Whether you sit around a dinner table every evening or use only use your dining room for special occasions like birthday parties and Christmas dinners, I think we can all agree that some of the best moments happen around a table. I may not have a beautiful tablescape going on all year long—let’s be real…I’m a mom of 2 now and that’s just not what this season of life currently looks like, but my dining room is still a central area of my home that we gather in as a family (even if it’s for a quick bowl of cereal before taking my son to school) and when friends and family are over. Because dining rooms and breakfast nooks are where everyday life takes place and where the ones you love most gather, I think creating a space that is welcoming and also a reflection of your family’s culture is so important. A place that invites people to grab a plate of seconds and to linger a little longer. This post isn’t to tell you what your dining room should look like, but to inspire you to! It’s a blog post to help you figure out your own unique style in this unique season of your life. Maybe you’re wanting to do a total renovation and you’re looking for everything from a table and dining chairs to light fixtures and curtains. Maybe you are wanting a simple refresh that’s possible with an easy change of wall art. I hope this post inspires you and helps you find the perfect pieces to refresh your dining room with.
01. Traditional with a Modern Flare
There are so many great brands represented in this mood board like Target, Amazon (Hallelujah for Amazon Prime!), Wayfair, Anthroplogie, H&M, Walmart and more! It’s a beautiful mix for every budget. I love the the light colors of the area rug, baby blue curtains, upholstered dining chair and the wood tone of the round dining table. The gold and brass accents effortlessly tie in the lighter colors with the bold and colorful art from Anthro. This original piece of art adds a fun touch to this traditional styled dining room and also incorporates patterns that make this room stand out. For this room I chose gold-rimmed plates from H&M (such a great find!), marble and gold coasters and other serveware that was more muted. The woven placemats from Amazon are neutral and an easy way to incorporate the perfect amount of texture to this space.

02. Fine Dining
Classic and elegant. The color palette of this room makes my heart so happy. The gold accents elevate the room while the soft colors create a peaceful atmosphere. And can we talk about that chandelier? What a show-stopper.
Would you believe me if I told you that white washed buffet is from Amazon? It has incredible reviews, comes in 4 different colors and is super budget friendly.
The curtains are a work of art all by themselves—Anthropologie does it again!
There are so many things to love about this space. I know there isn’t a dining room table in this collage, but I thought it was too good not to share as inspiration. To find the perfect dining room table for your space you can click here to shop a curated collection of some of my faves!

03. A Springtime Delight
I just imagine sitting in this happy little breakfast nook on a Saturday morning with a nice Starbucks cold brew in my hand. This mood board just makes me happy. It definitely has a Spring vibe to me because of the vibrant painting and all the rattan. There is also a bit of a coastal feel because of the cane chairs and light and airy accessories. In this mix you will find budget friendly options from Amazon, Wayfair and Walmart.
The original art was found at Anthropologie—I am a sucker for all their unique art. They carry such unique pieces from artisans all over the U.S. Deann Herbert is the Nashville-based artist behind this colorful piece of art titled, “She Believed She Could”.
